Perfection

Perfection consists in doing the will of God, not in understanding his designs.  Jean Pierre de Caussade

For it is the function of perfection to make one know ones imperfection.  St. Augustine

One in all,
All in One --
If only this is realized,
No more worry about not being perfect!  Sen-tsan

I know
there is
perfection in the being
of my being,
that I am
holy in amness
as stars or
paperclips,

that the universe,
moving from void to void,
pours in and out
through me:

there is a point,
only itself,
that fills space,
an emptiness
that is plenitude:

a void that is all being,
a being that is void:

I am perfect:
the wind is perfect:
ditchwater, running, is perfect:

I raise my hand  A.R. Ammons

In studying ourselves, we find the harmony that is our total existence. We do not make harmony. We do not achieve it or gain it. It is there all the time. Here we are, in the midst of this perfect way, and our practice is simply to realize it and then to actualize it in our everyday life. Maezumi Roshi
